EnviroFresh Produce Sanitation Team Member Jobs – Jobs Description
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintains sanitation washroom in a hygienic condition, operates all equipment safely and according to established guidelines.
- Handles and mixes cleaning and sanitizing chemicals as prescribed on manufacturer’s label
- Cleans and sanitizes greenhouse equipment in a manner that protects against contamination of tomatoes and tomato plants
- Monitors, collects and reports Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures and all other HACCP pre-requisite programs as required
- Monitors equipment and supplies to properly support the completion of departmental tasks. Trains and supports departmental and non-departmental employees when necessary
- Cleans pack-house, cooler, and common area floors daily
- Performs scheduled cleaning of pack-house
- Removes broken glass in accordance with procedure
- Maintains cut glove inventory daily by sorting and stocking
- Trains and supports departmental and non-departmental employees as needed
- Cross-train and assist in other areas of the department as needed
- Performs other duties as needed
- Wears all necessary personal protective equipment required for each task
- Laundry tasks as needed
Education / Background Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Experience in sanitation an asset
- Understand company specific job-related applications of the Occupational Health and Safety
- Understand job specific applications of GMPs
- Understands and applies proper cleaning and sanitizing practices
- Understand company Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures
- Understand basic operational and preventive maintenance of dispensers
- Must be able to work independently and follow instructions as given
Working Conditions
- Must occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Requires bending, twisting, stooping, squatting, repetitive motion
- May work near moving equipment
- Able to work in a cool as well as a warm environment at times
