RPM Aerial Services Processing Specialist Jobs – Jobs Description
Under close supervision, the successful applicant for all these duties related to the planning, collection and processing of GIS data; coordinating RPAS ground and flight operations, including mission planning, operations, flight and maintenance logging, and most importantly ground and flight safety.
GIS Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate GIS activities to meet outlined goals
- Ability to use Geoprocessing tools and scripts to preform required duties
- Implementing procedures for data integrity and quality control
- Preparing maps and GPS data for field crews
- Preform field data collection
- Operation of various aerial data collection systems
- Preform post-processing as required RPAS
Operation Responsibilities:
- Conduct site inspections as required
- Conduct pre-mission planning with customers in a professional and courteous manner
- Providing superior customer service and serving as the face of the company on the ground
- Develop flight plans, check/file NOTAMS, check weather and coordinate airspace operations with any effected controlling agencies or privately-owned properties
- Conduct safe and responsible UAV flights using mutliple types of advanced aerial platforms
- Solve problems on the ground in real-time and collect acquired data in a timely manner
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- GIS Diploma (or equivalent experience)
- Experience with:
- GPS data collection hardware and software
- General computer troubleshooting and management
- Map and graphic creation in support of reporting and other deliverables
- The ability to work both independently and in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours and travel as required
- Must be willing to work off-shore environments (i.e. ships)
- Must have a drivers license and vehicle for transportation
UAV Piloting experience is a plus but RPM Aerial Services is prepared to train qualified individuals:
- Professional or intensive hobby piloting experience with various uncrewed aerial vehicles
- Knowledge of:
- Civilian airspace, aeronautical charts
- Current UAV flight systems
- Drone mapping software and/or various data collection systems such as LiDAR, Magnetometer and Photogrammetry
