SCM Group Canada Service Technician Jobs – Jobs Description
A service technician is responsible for the service, installation and customer support of SCM equipment. Service technician’s commission new machinery, customer trouble shoot (in person & virtually) as well as general repair and upgrading machinery. This role requires the ability to travel up to 70% of the time across Ontario with occasional travel to other provinces or countries as required. Most of our equipment is PC-Controlled using PLC’s. This role reports directly to the Service Manager of Canada based out of Toronto Ontario.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Installation and commissioning of new machinery
- Repair and upgrade current machinery
- Perform quality control tests on repaired equipment
- Dismantling of machines for refurbishment or moving
- Onsite repair for machine breakdowns. Testing repaired items to ensure compliance with technical specifications
- Provide technical advice to customers regarding preventative maintenance
- Provide onsite inspections of used machinery
- Training customers operators and internal staff on machinery
- Provide updates to Service Manager, Sales Team and Service coordinator
- Develop strong connections with our customers
- Provide work orders and reports in a timely manner
Requirements/Education
- Associate Degree in either Electronic Technology, Mechanical Engineering or close related field
- Strong understanding of electro-mechanical principles
- Experience using Multi-Meters, Oscilloscopes, Deadweight testers, pneumatic calibrators, electric motor diagnostic equipment
- Must be computer literate and have the ability to learn software and programs quickly
- Self-Starter
- Professional customer service skills
- Must be willing to travel (up to 70% when required) potentially in short notice
- Fluent in English (French as a second language is an asset)
- Passion for Customer Service
- Valid passport
